We are thrilled to officially announce improvements will make our campus even more beautiful and impressive—we can’t wait for you to see the results!

Expanding the Seivold Center for Early Childhood Education

Due to unprecedented demand from families who would like to enroll their children at Berkeley and our anticipation that this demand will continue, we are expanding the two-level Seivold Center for Early Childhood Education, which houses our youngest learners in pre-幼儿园, 幼儿园, 一年级.

This project will allow us to offer four sections of each of those grades (rather than only three) in the same building. The new pre-k and 幼儿园 classrooms will be downstairs, with the pre-k classroom connecting to the MacKechnie Pre-Kindergarten Atelier. The additional first grade classroom will be upstairs with the other first grade classrooms. We will also increase space for our learning center, offices, and testing with this investment.

Expanding the Gries Center for the 艺术 and Sciences

A second significant improvement enhances the two-level Gries Center for the 艺术 and Sciences toward the north, 进入希腊广场, by adding glorious covered outdoor learning and gathering space for our Upper Division students. The timeline for the completion of this project will be determined as the work on the Seivold Center unfolds. For renderings of what the new area will look like, please see above.

Refining the Hellenic Quad

The Hellenic Quad will be reimagined. Its middle portion and center walkways, showcasing the breathtaking Touchton Family Clock Tower, will remain intact as a welcoming and photo-worthy entry point to campus from the Casper Landis Buc Stop. This expansion comes with improvements that will help our surrounding neighbors, including new turn lanes on Kelly Road, a sidewalk on Exter Way from the Lucas Entrance to Kelly Road, and a bicycle/pedestrian lane on Bray Road.
